How to Cut Lace Fabric

Apart from sewing lace fabric, cutting lace fabric is also a very delicate process but it depends on the set instruments and strategies. Lace as most people know is a very sensitive fabric most especially due to the nature of its make-up which can easily be ruined. Follow the guidelines below to have a right cutting of your lace fabric that you intend to use in your clothes.

Gather the necessary tools: To realize this, there are some tools and equipment that will be required namely: sharp scissors, a ruler, fabric marker, and cutting mat.

Lay the lace fabric with the face side down on the cutting mat: Make sure that the fabric is flat and smooth: it is also important that no wrinkles or folds should be present.

Another choice is to measure and mark the fabric: Take the ruler and fabric marker to measure the desired length and width of the fabric then mark it.

Cut the fabric: Take the scissors and put the right part of the scissors on the mark line and cut across on the line. Be very gentle when cutting the fabric so as not to cause a tear on it.

Trim the edges: Sometimes it is possible to see threads on the edges or they may be frayed; use the scissors and cut them off if any.

Iron the fabric: Set the heat to minimum and then place the fabric on an iron to continue flatter the fabric.

Repeat the process: If there is a need to cut many other pieces of lace fabric, continue with the cutting until all cuts are made.

These are the steps that you need to follow in order to get a proper way of cutting lace fabric for the best designs. Ensure that a pair of scissors is sharp at all times, and ensuring that while cutting Lace Trim, adequate time is used. As noted here, lace fabric can also be used to produce rather complex and stylish patterns when properly worked on.
